Usage
Manage and use unlimited Termination
configurations. For each configuration you can
set the servers to be included, applications to
be included, Idle time value, Notification
message, Notification timeout, Notification
cycle count and Bypass Initial Notification
switch. See screen shot of termination
configuration.
SBTerminator can be launched via command line,
Scheduled task or Windows shortcut.
|
Process
SBTerminator.exe with the name of the
configuration to use as a parameter, is invoked
at a command line, a Scheduled Task or a
Shortcut. SBTerminator.exe must be called from
and reside in ServerBoss Server installation
folder.
SBTerminator interrogates the list of sessions
on the specified servers and locates all
instances of the specified Application name(s)
and user sessions using the applications.
If the Bypass Initial Notification switch is on,
the next two steps are skipped, otherwise
SBTerminator then sends a message to the
applicable user sessions found during its
initial interrogation of all servers and
sessions. This message informs the users that
they need to logoff.
SBTerminator then waits the amount of time
specified in the Notification Timeout.
After Initial Notification to users SBTerminator
examines the idle time for each session. If the
session's idle time exceeds the Idle Time
configured, the session is logged off and reset.
If all sessions have been logged off and no
sessions remain, SBTerminator is done OR, if
this is the 1st time through and the
notification cycle count is zero, SBTerminator
is done. ** Otherwise, SBTerminator waits the
configured Cycle Timeout amount of time before
proceeding.
** If during the initial pass through the
routine the “notification cycle count” is zero,
only those sessions that have exceeded the “idle
time” will be logged off, and then the program
ends. This would be used to kill old, idle,
typically disconnected sessions without
interrupting sessions that are active. It would
most likely be used in combination with the
Bypass Initial Notification” switch because
there's no need to inform old idle and
disconnected sessions.
SBTerminator repeats notification processes
based upon the value of the Notification Cycles
when the number is greater than zero.
At the expiration of the last Notification Cycle
count, SBTerminator log offs and resets all
remaining sessions identified at the beginning
of the process.
NOTE: SBTerminator.exe works in Citrix and
Terminal Services environments only. |
